I hiked/climbed
Bear Peak today. Ordered pizza. Took a nap. Caught up on lj, and
TLC.
I need a job. Going to rock and roll some job getting action now. Watch me.
UPDATE 1: Spiders in my laundry make me happy. Spiders almost always get me high.
UPDATE 2/3: Steve Jobs is making me very sad. When I saw the headlines yesterday about
Apple switching to intel, I thought for sure they meant one of intel's newer risc chips. I was wrong. Apple is switching to x-fucking-86 ISA.
Apparently, Steve made the decision mostly because Intel is making x86 chips that are cooler-running now, which is better for building smaller machines, and embedded-system-like-things (aka the iPod, laptops, mac minis, shuffles, etc). It would seem IBM, Motorola, and Freescale couldn't produce something with as much power and comparable energy efficiency.
I don't know, maybe I'm kind of behind the times when it comes to Computer Organzation. Has the evolution of processors made the risc/cisc distinction negligible?
UPDATE 4: Slashdot still makes me want to cry.
UPDATE 5: I still need a job.
