Apparently Ayn Rand is getting attention again
There are two things I would like to remind the world of: You'll also want to give this a listen (MP3):
And and special message to Libertarians (and really just the big 'L' ones): Objectivism is the largest liability of your movement. You might think it's cool to have them on board, but it's actually a really bad idea.
Why?
The best thing about Libertarianism is that it's simple. Objectivism keeps trying to say that it's simple--all you need to know is A=A and some how it all makes sense--but it's becoming clearer and clearer that it's not that. As much as some people talk about the length of the tax code they have probably never checked the page count of Atlas Shrugged--I'm sure it's on their shelves even if it's just for show--and the rest of Ayn Rand's works and her successors attempts to make Objectivism intelligible.
Libertarians, you're on the verge of having a very clear and concise message to communicate to the electorate that you mostly all agree on, don't fuck it up with Ayn Rand's tangential ramblings.
